BIO

I grew up in Minnesota, spending my earlier years on Lake Minnetonda. I took art and jewelry classes through high school, college electives, and later through the adults schools.

I have been a computer programmer by trade, but an artist lies hidden inside. My job took me to California in the early 1980's. I developed a passion for deep sea fishing, and a love of the ocean. Work, fishing, and raising my daughter consumed much of my time over the years, and there never seemed to be much time for art.

Then the pandemic locked us at home, and I was briefly furloughed from my job. I already had a stock of beads and wire that I'd been tinkering with, and started making wire jewelry during the three weeks I was out of work and locked down. I had done a lot of wire bending types of projects in school... the wire weaving is self taught, and what I have really started enjoying.

The year after I graduated from high school, my family took our first vacation to the Keys for Christmas. Since then, my parents have vacationed in the Keys nearly every winter. No matter where I'd travelled, I was always ready to come back to this beautiful archipelago.

There's still nothing like the feeling when the airplane door opens at the Key West airport, and that first whiff of tropical air! In 2018, I bought a house on Big Pine Key that will soon be my retirement home. I was honored to be accepted into the Artists in Paradise Gallery early in 2021.
